Description

Richard’s favourite is the Local Cheeseboard.
“I was like a child in a sweet shop when asked to perform this exercise when in reality I was, literally, a man in a cheese shop!”
We like to support our local businesses, producers and communities as much as possible, and feel very blessed having such close ties with these award winning, local, artisan cheese makers.
The Bourne Family and Ann Clayton whos farms and dairies are in Malpas and Claire Burt at the Bidlea Dairy in Holmes Chapel create outstanding cheeses with milk from our beautiful, lush Cheshire countryside.
From pasture to plate with the fewest food miles.
The Local Cheeseboard. Suitable for 6-8 people.
Bournes Clothbound Cheshire the most traditional of all Cheshire cheeses it is clothbound, crumbly yet moist with a salty tang.
Crabtree made to an Italian Alpine style recipe using milk from the Clayton’s own herd at Larkton Hall Farm. It has a fruity tartness and is delicious melted.
Burts Blue this multi award winning cheese is soft, creamy and mild. We have converted non blue cheese eaters to love it!
Drunken Burt also made by Claire Burt. This soft cows milk cheese starts off life much like the Burts Blue then is washed in Gatkin’s cider which gives it an added subtle ‘appley’ flavour
